About Calvary

Calvary is a special place where all are welcome. From great preaching, wonderful music, an active laity, and a friendly and mission-focused congregation, this parish has it all. “As a place of tolerance and acceptance of others; the friendliness, love and support of our congregation ensures we will continue to remain an open and affirming place for everyone.”

Calvary Episcopal Church, Front Royal (established 1854) is a worshiping community of over 300 baptized Christians who strive to “welcome all as neighbors.”  The only Episcopal Church in Warren County, Virginia, we belong to the Winchester Region, within the Diocese of Virginia; and are part of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The Region consists of 9 congregations and ministries (including the Episcopal seat, the Cathedral Shrine of the Transfiguration at Shrine Mont in Orkney Springs) and the Diocese is home to 182 congregations and two diocesan conference centers, six church schools, six diocesan homes, 17 regions, and the largest Anglican seminary in the world.
